16 arrested over attempts to migrate illegally to Australia

Colombo (News 1st) - 16 individuals who had been planning to migrate unlawfully to Australia by boat, were arrested by the Police STF and the Sri Lanka Navy. The police stated that the group of suspects were arrested at a house in Dummaladeniya, Wennappuwa. The arrests were made following a tip-off received by the Police STF. The suspects are reported to be residents of Pallama, Chilaw and Kurunegala.
