"SMART SRI LANKA" - Vocational Training Institute in Kandy opened by President

COLOMBO (News 1st):- President Maithripala Sirisena said that while ensuring the prevailing freedom and the democracy in the country, that everyone should come together to create a better country and a virtuous future generation. "SMART SRI LANKA” the Vocational Training Institute in Kandy was declared open by the President today (August 15). The institute was established with the objective of empowering the youth with skills and talents to face the challenges in the future. The center has been established inclusive of all facilities in the Katugastota Divisional Secretariat. The President addressing those gathered at the occasion said that as a government and as responsible authorities of that government that they want to create smart lives for the children of the country. He also pointed out how new statistics show 12% of students who enroll in state universities, go back home because of ragging. The President added that the Smart Sri Lanka initiative was introduced to hand it over to the children of this country. Meanwhile, the Head of State vested the newly built 100-bed ward complex at the Provincial Ayurvedic Hospital in Pallekele, with the public today.
