MP Duminda Dissanayaka on presidential candidate

Colombo (News 1st) - The following views were expressed by MP Duminda Dissanayaka during a media briefing held at the SLFP Headquarters. He stated that every party has the right to announce the name of its presidential candidate just like how they clearly state that President Maithripala Sirisena is their presidential candidate.  He continued that the alliance is something that goes beyond context, therefore, there is no such condition that this alliance must be formed by the 11th of August and all discussions must conclude by that day. He noted that they could reach a conclusion on who is going to be a better candidate and that the names they talk about might change. He further added that "there is nothing wrong expressing the expectations of parties before an alliance is formed. They have that right but it will not hinder discussions."
