COLOMBO (News 1st): The Postal Unions have taken sick leave as part of a trade union action focusing on a number of problems including issues in recruitment. Convenor of the Joint Postal Trade Union Alliance, Chinthaka Bandara said that the trade union action will be supported by postal workers from around the country.
When News 1st inquired Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyarathne stated that the implementation of a trade union action at a time when the process of problem-solving is in its final stage is not appropriate. He urged the postal workers to refrain from engaging in such a trade union action.
