Over 28,000 drug selling locations identified: Excise Dept.

Colombo (News 1st): Over the past year, the Excise Department of Sri Lanka carried out 10 separate raids on parties organized via Social Media and linked to drugs and alcohol. Five Investigative Units have been set up to monitor and investigate such parties which are organized through Social Media. Excise Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe said special attention has been drawn towards Hotels, Restaurants, and Lodges which cater to Local and International Tourists without a valid license. He said in 2018 alone, 28,454 locations which sell drugs and alcohol without a license were identified.
