COLOMBO (News 1st): The term of the Presidential Commission probing into the irregularities of state institutions within the past four years has been extended by another three months.
The term of the commission was due to end by the 16th of this month. However, a spokesperson for the commission noted that the term was extended till October 16th.
The President established this commission in order to probe into the irregularities said to have taken place within the period from January 15th, 2015 to December 31, 2018. The Chairman of the commission is a retired Supreme Court judge Upali Abeyratne.
