Doctor arrested for suspiciously earning of assets

UPDATE: Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said the suspect is 42-year-old Seigu Siyabdeen Mohamed Saafi, a Kurunegala resident. Kurunegala Police had received information that the suspect was accumulating assets in a suspicious manner. Thus the doctor was arrested over suspicion in order to investigate how he amassed his wealth. It has been revealed that he contested from the UNP for the Kurunegala district at the last general election. The Director of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital Dr. A.M.S. Weerabandara said an investigation IS underway. Colombo (News 1st): A doctor attached to the Kurunegala Hospital has been arrested. He is suspected of earning assets suspiciously. The suspect is a 42-year-old resident of Kandy Road, Kurunegala. Kurunegala Police are conducting further investigations.
