Enterprise Sri Lanka to assist entrepreneurs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Finance, Mangala Samaraweera shared his views on the economic vision of the government during a media briefing in Matara yesterday(March 17). He noted that under the Enterprise Sri Lanka programme they are prepared to offer loans from Rs.200,000 to Rs.750mn in order to assist upcoming entrepreneurs financially. He added that the government is even prepared to bear 50-75% of the interest rates. In some instances, the government will bear up to 100% of the interest. He added that the government's sole intention through this programme is to improve the lives of the poor. He added that they would focus on helping those who persevere to escalate them from their economically broken lives than merely donating money to people for their sake.
