Colombo (News1st) : Norwegian State Secretary Marianne Hagen who is on an official tour of Sri Lanka is due to visit Jaffna today.
According to the Norwegian embassy in Colombo, she is expected to inspect mine-clearing operations in the north. The Norwegian Government has pledged to support the operations with $7mn.
On Tuesday (March 5) State Secretary Marianne Hagen met with PM Ranil Wickremesinghe and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera. The Norwegian embassy also noted that she met with officials of the Human Rights Commission as well as officials from the Office of Missing Persons.
