1. Sri Lanka Cricket Elections will be held at 10.30 am today (Feb 21) at the Duncan White Auditorium. 2. Potato farmers of the Uva province allege that the government owes them nearly Rs. 30 million for the potatoes purchased from them last season. 3. A decision has been taken to install 10 new elevators to the Parliamentary complex incurring a cost of approximately Rs. 100 million. 4. Minister Kabir Hashim notes that he has provided information and evidence to the PCoI which covers areas such as signed agreements and suitability of aircraft for SriLankan. 5. President's Counsel Kalinga Indatissa has been elected as the 25th President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL). 6. During the party leaders meeting yesterday (Feb 20) the United National Party took a decision to appoint a committee to investigate MPs accused of using narcotics. 7. Kasun Dananjaya alias “Wedikande Kasun”; an accomplice of Makandure Madush who was arrested on the February 19th,  was produced at an identification parade yesterday (February 20). 8. The National Transport Commission says that measures will be taken to cancel the licenses of the buses which violate speed limits. 9. The deadline for accepting applications for the 2019 GCE Advanced Level examination was announced today (Feb 21). They are;
  • School students - February 25
  • Private students - March 01

10. The President provides funds of  Rs. 14 million to improve standards of schools with differently abled children, to purchase equipment for nurseries and also to renovate orphanages.
