Operations to bust drug dealers to strengthen - STF

COLOMBO (News1st) - The Special Task Force says that operations have tightened to arrest the associates of Makandure Madush and members of other underworld gangs. A senior official of the STF said that the 24-hour operation is carried out by the Organized Crimes Unit of the STF. The search operations have focused on the areas surrounding Colombo. The STF official noted that following the arrest of Makandure Madush in Dubai recently, that associates of six underworld drug kingpins were arrested in raids. The arrested persons include associates of Angoda Lokka and Kanjipani Imran. The official noted that the heroin and firearms in possession of the arrested suspects were also seized.
