Korakulam Pond threatened due to construction activities

COLOMBO (News1st) - Korakulam Pond in Mannar is a tourist attraction, located within close proximity to the Wilpattu National Park. The area holds a significance among bird watchers. A number of local and foreign birds are seen here as a result of this pond. Many tourists, bird watchers, wildlife observers as well as enthusiasts come to this location to observe bird life. However, at present, the area seems to be threatened by the construction activities taking place around the Korakulam Pond. This, in turn, would affect the birds, causing them to find other locations.
