REUTERS: English football team Altrincham FC wore rainbow-coloured kits in support of LGBT rights on Saturday (February 16).

The colours matched the LGBT pride flag and were part of Altrincham’s participation in Football v Homophobia Action Month and LGBT History Month.

During their game against Bradford (Park Avenue) they wore shirts bearing the message, ‘Football v Homophobia’, aiming to raise awareness of discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Altrincham, a town near Manchester in the north of England, is a non-league side who play in the National League North. Altrincham’s match with Bradford (Park Avenue) ended 1-1.
