Killer sentenced to death after 19 years

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A defendant found guilty of shooting a man in January 2000 was sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court today (February 11). The Attorney General filed a case against two men for the murder following an escalated personal dispute in Kelaniya. The other defendant was acquitted and released by High Court Judge Sashi Mahendran. The death sentence was given to a 57-year-old father of three from Kelaniya.
