COLOMBO (News 1st) -The Electorate Bala Mandala meeting of the Sri Lanka Podujana Women’s Front was held in Tissamaharama. Former speaker Chamal Rajapaksa was the guest of honour.
Addressing the event Chamal Rajapaksa said that the country does not have a national policy. Chamal Rajapaksa asked if the people wanted a government that was preventing the progress of projects done by earlier governments. This was done out of jealousy and money was wasted.
He further stressed that the country is in need of an election. The former speaker added that regardless of the accusations against Mahinda Rajapaksa, he lost only by 450,000 votes.
UPFA MP Pavithra Waniarachchi also spoke at the event. She believed that one of the Rajapaksas will emerge victorious at the next Presidential election. She said that no matter who is appointed as the common candidate from the United National Party that they are bound to face a tremendous loss.
