1. As per the
orders of President Maithripala Sirisena, the
President's Media Division (PMD) are currently compiling
legal drafts in order to grant the
police with
additional powers to
strengthen raids into
illegal drug smuggling.

"The Island" newspaper reports that
three lawmakers of the TNA possessing
dual citizenship are ready to give it up in the
early part of 2019 in order to
contest for the
next parliamentary elections.
