06 Sri Lankan fishermen handed over to the CID

Colombo (News 1st)-TheFisheries Department has handed over 06 Sri Lankan fishermen who had entered Reunion Island in France illegally to the CID. According to Padmapriya Thisera, the Assistant Director of the Fisheries Department' s investigation unit the fishermen were brought back to the country on the 26th through the intervention of the government. The fisherman who are residents of Chilaw had entered Reunion Island last month aboard a multi-day fishing vessel. The CID has commenced investigations into this.
