Heavy showers today

Colombo (News1st): The Meteorological Department forecasts over 100 mm of rainfall in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Southern provinces. It adds that 75 mm of rainfall can be expected at places in the Western province. Shower or thundershowers are also expected in the North-central province and in Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts. However, prevailing showers are expected to reduce from tomorrow (December 28). Meanwhile, the flood waters are receding in the Northern Province; the Met Department stated that the rainfall in the region has also reduced.
