1 dead following an accident in expressway

Colombo (News1st): One woman died and 4 others were admitted to the Horana Hospital with critical injuries in an accident that occurred at the 33.6L post in Dodangoda on the Southern Expressway early this morning. The accident occurred when a van traveling to Matara had run into a pole at the 33.6L post. A mother, father and three children of the same family were in the vehicle when the accident occurred. The 48-year-old mother died in the accident. According to the Police, one of the children, a 14-year-old girl, has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital for further treatment. The driver falling asleep had led to the accident.
