Gem smuggler arrested at BIA

Colombo (News 1st) - An individual who attempted to smuggle gems to Malaysia has been taken into custody by Customs at the BIA.
Deputy Customs Director Vipula Minnuvanpitiya stated that the gems were worth more than Rs. 1.5 Million.
The suspect had hidden the gems in certain orifices of his body and also had some in his luggage.
The Culprit is a 43-year-old male from Beruwala. He has been fined Rs. 50,000 and the gems have been taken into custody.
