Determination on the 20th constitutional amendment referred to the speaker

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Supreme Court today (September 17) announced that it has referred its determination on the 20th amendment to the constitution to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. The Supreme Court made the announcement after deliberating 14 petitions filed on this matter across 4 days. The JVP presented the 20th Amendment to the Constitution to Parliament recently and thereafter a Special Determination Petition challenging the Bill was filed before the Supreme Court by Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila.
