Delayed flight UL 880 takes off from Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Officials at the BIA stated that the Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 880 bound to Kantan, China that had been delayed owing to bad weather conditions took off from the airport at 1.44 this morning (September 17). None of the other flights are currently experiencing delays. Sri Lankan airlines announced yesterday (September 16) that the flight UL 880 that was due to leave for Kantan China at 2.30 last evening could be delayed for up to 10 hours. He said that the decision to delay the flight was because the Guwanju airport was temporarily closed down due to a storm that affected the area.
