49 Sri Lankan refugees return to the country

Colombo (News1st): 49 Sri Lankan refugees who were living in South India arrived in the country yesterday (Septemeber 11).

These refugees are natives of Kilinochchi, Jaffna and Mannar districts, who had traveled to India 30 years ago.

The refugees returned to the country with the assistance of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Altogether 941 refugees have returned to Sri Lanka so far this year.
