Bail granted for Gotabaya Rajapaksa and 6 others

Colombo (News1st) - Indictments were served on former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and six other at the Permanent High Court trial-at-bar in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds for the construction of the D.A Rajapaksa memorial museum in 2014. This is the second case filed by the Attorney General at the Permanent High Court of Trial at Bar. Rajapaksa and 06 others were released on a cash bail of Rs 100,000 each and two sureties of 1 Million Rupees each. Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was also present in court today when the case was taken up.
