Colombo (news 1st) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara and members of the National Police Commission are scheduled to appear before the Constitutional Council today (September 07).
Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament, Neil Iddawela said, the group was summoned upon the decision of the Constitutional Council.
He further noted, the group is being summoned today to investigate complaints that have arisen regarding the conduct of the IGP and orders issued by the commission.
The Constitutional Council is to gather for the meeting at 2.30 PM today.
The council chaired by the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya consists of 10 members including the Prime Minister and the opposition leader.
