President Maithripala Sirisena returns to Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st) – President Maithiripala Sirisena returned to the island last evening (September 02) following the conclusion of his official visit to Nepal.

He visited Nepal to attend the 4th BIMSTEC Summit. Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand are the seven South and Southeast Asia nations that participated in the event.

During his visit, President Sirisena met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of Myanmar Win Myint, and President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari. The President’s Media Unit said that the President met with Sri Lankans living in Kathmandu as well.
