Colombo (News1st) – The funeral of the Late Army Commander, Retired General Rohan Daluwatte will take place tomorrow (August 29).
A large number of people arrived to pay their last respects to late Retired General Daluwatte today as well (August 28).
Daluwatte joined the Sri Lanka Army as a Cadet Officer in 1961 and served until 1998 and received military training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom.
As Commander of the Army, he led the Riviresa Operation against the LTTE to re-capture the Jaffna town. Following his retirement he served as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Brazil. He also held positions in a number of public institutions.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday (August 29) at the Borella Public Cemetary with full military honors.
