COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Indian Ocean conference is scheduled to begin in Vietnam today (August 26). Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe is schduled to adress the inagural session of the conference.
The conference that takes place from August 27 -28 under the theme “Building Regional Architectures,” aims to promote strategic cooperation and trade ties between countries, consolidate security frameworks and administrative processes, and contribute to maintaining regional peace, stability, development, and connectivity.
The conference headed by Singapore, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will see the participation of state leaders, diplomats and other experts in various fields.
Prime Minister Wickramasinghe will be attending the conference along with a delegation of 8 other members.
