Gold worth Rs. 9.5 Mn seized at BIA

Colombo (News 1st) – Four female suspects who attempted to smuggle gold into the country have been arrested by Customs at Katunayake International Airport.

Customs Media Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne said the suspect had arrived from Singapore through Mumbai.

The stock of gold that was taken into custody is worth over Rs. 9.5 million.

The suspects are residents of Piliyandala, Battaramulla, and Mulleriyawa.
