UPDATE: Six suspects arrested over Weligama Shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st) UPDATE -  12.34 PM: Police have arrested six suspects over the shooting that took place last night (August 19) in a restaurant in Weligama. A police spokesperson said the shooting took place during a party following an argument that broke out between six people who were present. No casualties were reported. Police recovered the revolver that is believed to have been used in the shooting, outside the restaurant. The Police Special Task Force and Police K9 Units have been called in to pursue several leads in the investigation.   COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have commenced investigations into a shooting that took place at a hotel in Weligama yesterday (August 19). A spokesperson for the police stated that the incident occurred at around 11 PM last night. 7 rounds of revolver ammunition and 3 empty shell casings were discovered at the scene of the crime. The police believe that the incident occurred when a group of intoxicated individuals in the area shot into the air.
