COLOMBO (News 1st) – Around 1364 land deeds were presented to beneficiaries in Kegalle today (August 19) under the auspices of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Politicians including Ministers Gayantha Karunathilake and Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and several public officials were present at the event.
Speaking at the event Prime Minister Rani Wickremesinghe stated that the current government is one that gets the job done instead of just speaking about it or making spectacles out of the work that they accomplish. He claimed that there is little need to talk of what they had done because the work stands for itself.
The Prime Minister also took the time to list out the accomplishments of the current administration. He listed Gamperaliya. Grama shakti, Enterprise Sri Lanka and the proposed setting up of investments zones as the Government’s accomplishments.
Ranil Wickremesinghe went onto note that within the past 3 years they have managed to pass the 19th amendment to the constitution, make the President more accountable to Parliament, limit the term of a presidency to 5 years, take away the power of the President to dissolve Parliament and ensured the right to information.
