COLOMBO (News 1St)- Speaking at two separate occasions, Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and Former Minister Mervin Silva commented on Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Minister of Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Regional Development, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that the entire country knows about Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s past, about his white vans, how he took the law into his hands and robbed property.
The Minister noted that Hambantota has been the worst affected as it has been riddled with quarries and sand mines which were put into operation without any environment approval. Fonseka noted that if the people want such a situation to return to the country they could elect the people responsible for it.
Former Minister Mervin Silva speaking about Gotabaya Rajapaksa described him as a demon that the people of this country know only one side of. Silva questioned whether the public wants to elect a person who fled to the United States of America during the war as their president.
He described this notion as ridiculous adding that the country would be better off with him as president.
