Two JO MP's to be brought for the ethics and privileges parliamentary committee

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Joint Opposition MP's Wimal Weerawansa and Prasanna Ranaweera have been summoned to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Ethics and Privileges tomorrow, (July 16) regarding their recent behaviour on the parliament floor. Minister Ranjith Maddumabandara, a member of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges stated that a future course of action regarding the two MP's would be decided following the committee sitting. The members of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges are Thilak Marapana, Ranjith Maddumabandara, Faiszer Mustapha, Sri Skandarajah, Douglas Devananda, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Susil Premajayantha and E. Saravanapavan. Minister of Law & Order, Ranjith Maddumabandara stated that they have summoned the two MP's who behaved in an obscene manner to the Committee on Ethics and Privilege and that upon watching the relevant video footage that necessary advice would be given to them on how they must behave in parliament in line with the parliament tradition and also that if disciplinary action is required that it would also be taken.
