Auditor General's department to be abolished

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Auditor General Gamini Wijesinghe stated that the National Audit Office will be established within the next 5 months. He expressed these views after the draft of the national Audit bill was passed in Parliament. Accordingly, the Auditor General's Department would be abolished. The draft of the National Audit bill was passed with amendments in Parliament on the 5th of July. Speaking to  News 1st, the Auditor General said that the audit process will not be hindered by the amendments which have been made in the audit bill.
