Local canned fish producers request to increase prices

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Local canned fish producers have requested the government to increase the prices of local canned fish. The price of local canned fish stands at Rs. 140 while imported canned fish are sold at Rs. 146. The producers urge the government to bring the local prices in line with the prices of imported canned fish as the production cost has increased. A member of the cost of living committee said a decision on the matter will be taken when the committee convenes tomorrow (June 6).
