Udayanga Weeratunge's FR petition dismissed

Colombo (News1st) - Former Sri Lankan ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga's fundamental rights petition calling on the warrant issued by the Fort Magistrates court against him to be recalled, was dismissed today. The FR petition was dismissed when it was taken up for consideration by a 3 judge bench of the Supreme court. The FR petition also called on the court to unfreeze his bank accounts and demanded compensation worth 100 million from the FCID's chief investigator Nihal Francis.
