SLFP ministers decide to boycott today's cabinet meeting

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ministers have decided to boycott the cabinet meeting scheduled for today (April 10). General Secretary of the UPFA, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, said the decision was taken unanimously at the central committee meeting of the SLFP, held at the President's official residence under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena, last night (April 9). The meeting was held to discuss the action to be taken with regard to ministers who voted in favour of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. However, an agreement on the matter was not reached. Accordingly, the Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is scheduled to reconvene today (April 10). Meanwhile, Minister Chandima Weerakodi who voted in favour of the no-confidence motion also said that all SLFP ministers have decided to boycott today's (April 10) cabinet meeting.
