COLOMBO (News 1st) – At a meeting held at Temple Trees yesterday (March 19), members of the UNP Parliamentary Group had decided that SLFP government representatives who sign the no-confidence motion should resign from the government.
After the meeting State Minister of Power & Renewable Energy, Ajith P. Perera was questioned about the reason the Ministers from the SLFP supporting the no-confidence motion.
Responding to the question he stated that if they support it, they are to see it, but if they support it they cannot remain in this government.
“They must leave. You cannot sign a no-confidence motion against the government and remain in it. If they sign we shall see what happens.” – State Min. Ajith P. Perera
