Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa paid homage to the Temple of the Tooth Relic today, February 25. The former president called on the chief prelate of the Malwathu chapter of the Siyam sect, Most Venerable Thibbathuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero. Thereafter, he called on the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri chapter of the Siyam sect, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathna Thero. Journalists were able to question him about his views on the cabinet reshuffle. Responding to queries, he stated that there is nothing special and that the same pack of cards has been shuffled again. Further, he stated that Kandy has suffered a great blow as highways have been removed from the minister who was from Kandy. Mahinda Rajapaksa also stated that there are reasons why there was work done during his time and not now. He stated that the current government does not have money and are taking loans to sustain.
