Israel ambassador asks to meet New Zealand pop star Lorde over canceled show

New Zealand singer Lorde had cancelled a concert in Tel Aviv on Monday (December 25) due to criticism from activists in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

A spokeswoman for the New Zealand Jewish Council said that the arguments applied to Israel had been not applied to other countries, and that Lorde was performing in Russia who is has ‘a very oppressive regime.’
