CAA to set price for cooking oils – facts to surface at noon meeting

The Consumer Affairs Authority has decided to set a controlled price for all cooking oils including coconut oil.

According to the Chairman of the Authority, Hasitha Thilakarathna, the setting of the controlled price will be discussed at a meeting held by the Cost of Living Committee at the Parliamentary Complex, later today, Nov 14.

He added that the Consumer Affairs Authority said that the revised prices of essential food items will be gazetted.”The recently reduced commodity prices have been issued to the Consumer Affairs Council,” said chairman Thilakaratha.

Additionally, the gazette notification on the revised prices will be submitted to the Cost of Living Committee for approval today, November 14.
