Uber’s UK boss has quit the company as it battles London regulators over a threat to revoke it’s licence and faces bitter divisions on its board.

Uber said the resignation of Jo Bertram, the head of the company in northern Europe, was not related to last month’s licence issue.

In a letter to colleagues, Bertram said she had “decided to move on to something new and exciting” after four years with the company, during which time its network of UK drivers expanded from a few hundred to about 50,000.

Uber’s Chief Executive, Dara Khosrowshahi, is to meet London’s transport commissioner to discuss about the firm’s licence in London.
