It’s a world where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. But, News 1st’s Gammadda initiative is standing by those in need.
When the News 1st teams toured several villages through the Gammadda door-to-door initiative, they came across several residents who were vocal on the issues and hardships they face.
The News 1st teams touring from village to village listened to the plight of the residents.
The voice of the poor :
“Ministers come here during elections and note down measurements to construct various things in our village. However, after the elections there is not even one person that comes to our village to look at us”.
“They asked us why we do not have electricity then I answered that it was due to the political system prevalent during the past 20 years”.
These villagers who have no proper access roads and who spend most of the time in darkness are rendered helpless owing to the relevant authorities turning a blind eye to their pleas.
