The son of Osama bin Laden, Hamza bin Laden, has been officially designated a global terrorist by the United States.

Hamza,  in his late 20’s, was named an official member of al-Qaeda in 2015 and is seen as a possible successor to his father. It is observed that he has been calling for attacks against Western capitals.

The State Department’s move to label the younger bin Laden a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” comes with sanctions designed to isolate him economically and geographically.
