Professionals question if the signing of the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) is taking place in the guise of a covert operation.

etcaChairman of IT Professionals Forum,Kapila Perera charged that a discussion about ETCA was held between Sri Lanka and India without informing ‘anyone’ and the meeting ended without reaching a final decision.

One of the main factors that was discussed was the movement of persons, and according to this agreement -many including the Prime Minister – say that – people wont be moving to Sri Lanka from India.

“They are currently discussing this issue. We clearly see that they discuss everything in a covert manner and will then try to fool the general public. They have fooled the Parliament to engage in this”, alleged the Chairman

The GMOA alleges that agreements are being made with China and Singapore in order to supress the objections made on ETCA.

gmoa_2Dr. Samantha Ananda (GMOA) charged that ETCA will come in to effect in the near future and persons are trying to create confusion by reaching agreements with Singapore and China to cast aside the objections raised against ETCA

“We got to know that they are reaching in to agreements with Singapore and China to suppress the objection made on ETCA. These persons are trying to create confusion in society and reach in to these agreements”, he said
