Veteran musician, Dr. Pandith W.D. Amaradeva passed away a short while ago. According to his relatives the veteran artist passed away while receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital.

Amaradewa was 88-years old at the time of his demise.

His son, Ranjana Amaradewa, speaking to News 1st said Dr. Pandith W.D. Amaradeva was admitted to hospital to undergo an emergency surgery. Director of the hospital, Dr. Susil Senaratne said that Dr. Amaradeva was subjected to an emergency surgery.
