The foundation stone for a technological laboratory at the Meegahajadura Maha Vidayala in Hambantota, was laid on Friday under the auspices of Minister Sajith Premadasa.

Thirty million rupees of funds from the Ministry of Education have been allocated to establish the new technological laboratory in Hambantota.

“Mr. Former President, do not worry,  do not be afraid! These jobs are being provided to the people of this district. I cannot help if you feel threatened by these people receiving employment opportunities”, said the Minister of Housing and Construction.

He added that it is shameful that even though the former president has connections with the Meegahajadura School, he was unable to carry out a large scale development project for the school, even after serving office as president for two terms

He further charged that the former president was unable to transform this school to become a beacon of light in this area. Minister Sajith Premadasa vowed to transform the Meegahajadura school into an elite school in the area.
