Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe held discussions with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal in Singapore on Friday, September 2.
The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal, has announced that the United State is prepared to assist in the welfare and betterment of the Sri Lankan people.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that Sri Lanka’s current development drive and political challenges faced in the Asian region were discussed at this meeting.
Nisha Biswal had also commended the programmes of the consensual government.
The statement goes on to note that long-term sustainable programmes for the people in the north to get back to their normal lives was also discussed at the meeting.
