United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon who is in the country on an official visit, embarked on a tour to Galle Thursday afternoon.
During his visit, the UN Secretary General attended a youth event titled Reconciliation and Co-existence: Role of Youth.
The event was organised by the National Youth Services Council together with the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation and the United Nations in Sri Lanka.
Son of late minister Festus Perera, State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera also attended the event.
After engaging with the youth, the UN Secretary General signed a pledge which read “I pledge for shared prosperity, peace and partnership”.
