The Public Services Commission has decided to suspend the services of Anusha Pelpita and R.A.A.K. Ranawaka who were serving the public administrative service.
Secretary to the commission, Gamini Seneviratne stated that this decision was taken when the Public Services Commission convened earlier this afternoon.
The appointment of Anusha Palpita to Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs and R.A.A.K Ranawaka to Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Irrigation came under criticism during the recent days.
This was because, the duo were given the appointments at a time when investigations are taking place against them over the fraud and corruption said to have taken place under the previous administration.
On Friday, the Public Service Commission announced that it had received copies of the letter indicating that indictments have been filed against them.
This evening, the Commission reached a decision to suspend their services.
